Testimonials
“MM SHRM has proven extremely beneficial with respect to my professional growth and development. I have had access to local, cost-effective, and timely education and learning opportunities, opportunities to develop as a leader, and to grow my professional network. And while the benefits to me personally are enormous, I am pleased that I am able to leverage what I’ve learned and the connections I’ve made for the benefit of my employer and employees who I serve.”

“As a Human Capital leader, MM SHRM provides an external avenue to explore other organization’s best practices in the profession, which lays the groundwork for outstanding idea generation for our own programs. By participating in the committee’s and events, the creativity reaches beyond what we would have access to within our organization. This has a pay it forward affect that is can’t have a dollar value placed on it.”

“I became a member of MM SHRM a few years ago when I wanted to build my local network of HR professionals. Recently I needed to find a local vendor for some HR services. I contacted my MM SHRM network and within minutes had multiple options. That is the power of the MM SHRM network!”

“Having been actively involved in MM SHRM for more than 3 years, I’m still constantly surprised at the ongoing professional growth the organization offers. As a young professional, I joined MM SHRM to learn more about the field and to network with experts in the HR area. During my time here, I have received my PHR thanks to the support of the MM SHRM PHR/SPHR study group, became a co-chair of the Membership Services special interest group, and attended countless programs and networking events, developing a strong base of local resources as well as invaluable education in HR practice. Aside from the professional aspects, the organization offers a positive, high-energy environment where I’ve met a wide array of people—and I’ve had a ball, doing it!”

“I joined MM SHRM in 2006, but I didn’t get involved with the committees (special interest groups) until 2007. MM SHRM has been one of the most valuable organizations for our firm as it relates to networking and exchanging ideas with knowledgeable and dedicated people. The educational programs provided throughout the year are very timely, valuable and affordable. The committees (special interest groups) provide a unique opportunity for people to get ideas and gain insight from other organizations. In addition, I’ve found the networking to be the most valuable of any other organization in the

“I learned that one gets the most value from MM SHRM by being involved and that one of the best ways to be involved is to actively participate in one or more committees (special interest groups). It has been my experience that MM SHRM is an organization focused on its committees (special interest groups). The Employment Practices special interest group has been a good fit for me because it deals with legal issues affecting human resources, which fits well with my legal practice. Membership and leadership in this group has also given me more opportunities to participate in educational presentations. I have found that the greatest benefit for me has been the opportunity to interact with HR professionals who share some of my own concerns about employees, employers and/or the workplace. A number of these people have become my personal friends. I also believe membership in MM SHRM has given me the opportunity to grow professionally.”
