Member Orientation
On an annual basis, Metro Milwaukee SHRM hosts a Member Orientation event. The Member Orientation event is a casual event that offers attendees the opportunity to learn about the benefits Metro Milwaukee SHRM offers its members and the value it brings to HR professionals.
Specifically, the Member Orientation event provides members and potential members with an opportunity to meet the leaders of Metro Milwaukee SHRM and attendees get an overview of Metro Milwaukee SHRM’s online resources, networking opportunities, programming and more!
Representatives from each Special Interest Group (SIG) attend the event and take time to discuss their SIG with attendees, including what their role is within Metro Milwaukee SHRM, meetings times and information on how members can get involved.
The evening begins with a gathering of members and individuals who are considering becoming members of Metro Milwaukee SHRM. Each attendee receives materials to help get them acquainted with Metro Milwaukee SHRM and then they are given the opportunity to choose which SIG/Committee they would like to learn more about.
The SIG/Committee chairs and co-chairs provide an overview of each SIG, how someone can get involved, the role and goals of each SIG within Metro Milwaukee SHRM. They also answer any questions new members have about Metro Milwaukee SHRM or their specific SIG/Committee. It is a great way to get information, ask questions, and make connections.
Metro Milwaukee SHRM hosts this event at no cost to members who have joined within the past year. All other attendees are required to pay a minimal fee of $10 to attend the event. Free appetizers are provided throughout the evening.
