As the HR Business partner you will support our unionized associates and you’ll have oversight for all aspects of the site’s human resources and labor management functions.  Additionally, you will provide strategic direction, solutions, and tools to promote a positive working environment, enhance performance and achieve the business strategy. You’ll manage the day to day activities of your plant location including: labor/union relations, contract administration, payroll and time keeping systems, staffing P&M, employee relations, performance management, HR strategy, employee training and development, grievance or dispute resolution, disciplines and terminations, and diversity.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Addressing employee relations issues and taking an active role in the employee grievance process
  • Ensuring consistency in administering human resource policies and procedures.
  • Proactively driving relevant solutions and outreach to prevent workplace issues/concerns and employee awareness and understanding of PPG policies
  • Fostering a positive labor climate and relations with Union leadership
  • Educating supervisors on contract administration to minimize grievances.
  • Leading negotiations preparations and local negotiation matters
  • Analyzing and interpreting employment-related data and preparing required reports and analysis
  • Completing EEO/AAP reporting requirements



Minimum Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline required, with Masters in Labor Relations strongly preferred
  • 5+ years related Human Resources experience
  • Previous Union related HR experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting a plus
  • Problem solving with flexibility and sensitivity to both the needs of the individual and the business
