Recently, Metro Milwaukee SHRM adopted a new structure for our Board of Directors, looking to particular directors to develop and implement actions in distinct areas making different directors responsible for actions and activities that serve the strategic goals of the organization. We are currently seeking nominees for four Director positions. All Directors participate in Board meetings and Leadership meetings, developing and implementing strategic goals, represent the organization at MMSHRM events and in the community, and champion the organization to encourage membership and engagement.
Nominees for Director positions are being sought for these Board positions:
Membership Director: Working with a Committee, develops and implements a membership strategy for MMSHRM, including new member recruiting, welcoming new members, and planning and coordinating the Open House, HR Happy Hours, and the annual Brewers Outing and Holiday Networking events.
Diversity & Inclusion Director: Develops and implements the MMSHRM D & I strategy, including special programs and initiatives, coordination with NAAAHR and WISHRM, and networking in the community regarding D & I initiatives and events.
Certification Director: Develops and implements the MMSHRM certification strategy, including study groups, continuing education, promoting the benefits of certification, and serving as liaison with WISHRM and SHRM.
Special Interest Group (SIG) Programming Director: Ensures quality program and promotion to engage members by coordinating SIG programs and leading the development and maintenance of a 90-days-in-advance program calendar. Also provides direction and guidance for co-chairs and assists in development and transition of future SIG leaders. Serves as the primary contact between SIGs, the Board of Directors, and the MMSHRM office.

SIG Leadership: Our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are one of the most valuable aspects of MMSHRM membership, providing targeting program for the various disciplines within the HR profession. SIG Chairpersons work to plan and implement programming and other events for a Special Interest Group and coordinate with the SIG Programming Director. SIG chairs also attend two meetings of the Board of Directors each year.
Committee Leadership & Service: While SIGs focus on programming, Committees generally focus their work on non-program areas such as events, community and college relations, certification and more. MMSHRM has opportunities for individuals interested in leading a committee and those interested in serving on a committee. Committee service should be of particular interest for those who may not be interested in long-term or regular commitments, but who have a desire to contribute on a short-term project.
