Topic: HR Metrics and Data Analytics
Description: Join us for a lively, interactive discussion as Matthew Hanchek, Director of Total Rewards for Milwaukee County, shares how he assumed responsibility for developing Milwaukee County’s first in-house HR Metrics practice and the tools/presentations he uses to present findings to the County’s Executive Cabinet on a quarterly basis. As solo HR practitioners, Matthew’s presentation will offer us some insight and ideas on developing and using HR metrics in our daily practice.
Speaker: Matt Hanchek (MBA, PHR/SHRM-CP) joined Milwaukee County as the Benefits Manager in 2007, following several years in Benefits and Compensation roles in both manufacturing and healthcare industries. He currently serves as that Director of Total Rewards, with oversight of non-pension employee and retiree benefits, compensation, HRIS, leave management, and HR Metrics. During his tenure at Milwaukee County, Matt has played a critical role in the development of Milwaukee County’s first dedicated Benefits Division, reintegrating the Benefits function within Human Resources, creating a market-based pay structure, and creating a service delivery model to support 20,000 active employees, retirees, and their covered dependents. Throughout his tenure, Matt developed and executed strategies that reduced the County’s long-term OPEB liability by more than $900 million. He was honored by Equality Wisconsin as an Equal Rights Champion in 2011, and nominated for the Public Policy Forum’s “Best in Government” award in 2015.
